Doing hard stuff is well… hard. Hard stuff is out of the norm, they are things that we are not naturally supposed to do, and they are considered hard because the brain is telling us not to do them. Our brain is just trying to protect us.
It all stems back to energy consumption. We are natural hunters and gatherers, we used to need that energy to survive—but not any more. Physically straining makes sense, conserve energy. What about mental energy? Well the brain is only 2% of our body weight, yet takes up to 20% of the body’s total haul. That’s an expensive organ.
You need to push your brain harder, don’t listen to it when it tells you to stop, it is not your savior.
